Description

Luna is a general-purpose programming language with an intuitive visual interface that is dedicated to data science applications. In this presentation we will show how to improve interpretation of results and communication, including with non-technical business experts, by making data visualization the driving component of data science workflow.

Abstract

The talk is a presentation of Luna, a visual-textual programming language and a data processing environment. It showcases a novel paradigm for data processing and explains how purely functional programming can be combined with visual representation to help people create pipelines that are more intuitive, easier to comprehend and less error-prone. We demonstrate interactive examples and discuss the possibilities of such paradigm to change the way the data is being processed across industries.
