Mahan is a data engineer on Spotify’s Forecasting team. In the past 3 years, he has built different forecasting models and supportive data infrastructure, first on Hadoop and later on Google Cloud, using various technologies such as Python notebooks, PySpark, Scio(Google Dataflow) and MapReduce. He has also created an in-house model distributor on PySpark in order to run models and tune parameters at scale. His background is software engineering and prior to Spotify he worked as big data engineer/architect and software engineer.
