Chris Sidebottom

Over my working life I've had the joy of building lots of different things. Many years ago I was building electronic circuitry for industrial label machines either with Assembly or C. Later on I lead development of high traffic websites for the BBC, from PHP to JavaScript and into the cloud. Now I'm on my way to becoming a data engineer, leading a team at Sainsbury's - one of the UK's largest supermarkets. As part of Sainsbury's Applied Data and Machine Learning engineering team, my job is to translate valuable algorithms into production code which can scale out to our customers and stores. I'm keen to apply my existing software engineering skillset to data science problems to support my team and data science as an evolving industry.
