Vince Madai

Vince Madai

Vince is a senior medical AI researcher at Charité with an M.D., a Ph.D. in Medical Neuroscience and an M.A. in Medical Ethics, and he is also CSO at ai4medicine. His focus includes AI-research, AI-ethics, data science, neuroimage post-processing and clinical research. He has been the scientific lead of the "Predictive Modelling in Medicine" research group at Charité as well as the Prediction2020 project and the PRECISE4Q project. He has special expertise in the ethics of AI, especially bias and upcoming regulations for AI products. Moreover, he is the expert council of the Good Technology Collective (GTC) and an associate editor of the interdisciplinary Delphi Journal. He is also the organizer of the "Machine Learning in Healthcare" meetup in Berlin.

Romeo Kienzler

Romeo Kienzler

Romeo is a Cypherpunk working for IBM. He is a big fan of Open Source, data privacy and decentralization. He designs AI systems which humans really need. He holds an M. Sc. (ETH) in Computer Science with specialization in Information Systems, Bioinformatics and Applied Statistics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. He works as Associate Professor for artificial intelligence at the Swiss University of Applied Sciences Berne, Adjunct Professor for Information Security at the Northwestern Swiss University of Applied Sciences and his current research focus is on cloud-scale machine learning and deep learning using open source technologies including TensorFlow, Keras, DeepLearning4J, Apache SystemML and the Apache Spark stack. He also contributes to various open source projects. He regularly speaks at international conferences including significant publications in the area of data mining, machine learning and Blockchain technologies. Romeo is lead instructor of the Advance Data Science specialization on Coursera with courses on Scalable Data Science, Advanced Machine Learning, Signal Processing and Applied AI with Deep Learning.

Inga Strumke

Inga Strümke

Inga received her PhD in particle physics in May 2019, where she researched the application of machine learning methods in beyond Standard Model physics. She has given invited talks and seminars at international conferences and institutions, focusing on the probabilistic interpretation and uncertainty of machine learning output. She is currently working as a manager within machine learning and responsible use of AI at PwC.While we should welcome the possibilities associated with using artificial intelligence in society and the industry, Inga's message is that we must also be conscious about the possible consequences, and critical about the statistical understanding behind the increased use of machine learning algorithms in decision making.Inga has written numerous essays and appeared on national radio and television, communicating AI and fundamental physics to the public. She obtained her master’s degree in theoretical physics on thermal quantum field theory from the NTNU in 2012, and has previously worked within IT security and petrophysics.
