Should I buy a “corporate” or an “individual” pass?

The "individual" ticket is meant for those purchasing their own ticket, whereas the "corpororate" pass is intended for attendees whose attendance expenses are covered by their employer, be it a corporation or a public institution.

Who is elligible to a student pass?

Student passes are exclusively designated for students who can provide documentation of their affiliation with a recognized educational institution. A valid student ID will be required for verification upon arrival at the event venue.

What is the role of QuantStack in the organization of PyData Paris?

"PyData" is a registered trademark owned by NumFOCUS Inc, a US-based non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) dedicated to promoting open-source software and fostering open practices in research, data, and scientific computing.

QuantStack is a Paris-based corporation providing open-source software development services. The QuantStack team comprises maintainers of pivotal open-source projects within the PyData ecosystem, including but not limited to Jupyter, conda-forge, scikit-learn, Mamba, and various others.

Under the terms of an agreement between QuantStack and NumFOCUS:

  • QuantStack assumes full responsibility for organizing the conference, including all associated costs. In the event of a financial loss, QuantStack bears the responsibility, as well as any profit generated.

  • QuantStack pays a predetermined fee to NumFOCUS for the usage of the "PyData" trademark within the context of this conference.

  • The conference will be managed by QuantStack as a community-led event, with an independent program committee tasked with curating tracks and content. The conference is subject to the NumFOCUS code of conduct.

Does Value Added Tax (VAT) apply to ticket sales?

Value Added Tax (VAT) is applicable to all ticket sales, including those made by international buyers. All indicated prices include the VAT. This is in accordance with EU policy, wherein Business-to-Business (B2B) services related to admission for cultural, artistic, sporting, scientific, or educational events are subject to taxation at the location where these events physically occur.

Does Value Added Tax (VAT) apply to sponsorship packages?

The prices of sponsorship packages are indicated "before taxes".

  • For sponsors based in France, the VAT rate is 20%,

  • For sponsors based in the EU, VAT will be auto-liquidated,

  • For sponsors based outside of the EU, VAT is not applicable as per Article 259-1 of the French tax code (CGI).
