Description

In this talk, we’ll talk about the central role of data in building industrial AI-based applications, and focus on one particular application: AI for self-driving cars.

Abstract

In this talk, we’ll talk about the central role of data in building industrial AI-based applications, and focus on one particular application: AI for self-driving cars. We’ll look at how data is used to train and validate every aspect of autonomous software, and how this pushes us to redefine our entire software infrastructure for AI. We’ll look at NVIDIA’s internal end-to-end AI platform that enables continuous data ingest from cars producing multiple Terabytes of data per hour, and enables AI designers to iterate training new neural network designs across thousands of GPU systems and validate their behavior over multi Petabyte-scale data sets. We’ll talk about our overall stack, from data center deployment to AI pipeline automation, large-scale AI dataset management, AI training & testing. Data being so central to creating AI-based applications, we’ll also touch on RAPIDS (http://rapids.ai), NVIDIA’s latest software to accelerate data science, and enable the exploration and assembly of datasets faster than ever.

Also, please join us after the final talks and tutorials on Wednesday, from 6:00-9:00, for a Meetup and happy hour hosted by NVIDIA. Join the RAPIDS team from NVIDIA and learn about updates on the RAPIDS OSS project, and share your data science experiences. Be part of conversations on GPU-accelerated algorithms, scalable deployment, and more. Conveniently hosted in the CIC. Appetizers and drinks will be provided.
