Grigori Fursin

Dr. Grigori Fursin is a Chief Scientist of the non-profit cTuning foundation developing methodology and tools for collaborative and reproducible R&D in computer engineering. In the past, he was a co-founder of Intel Exascale Lab and a senior research scientist at INRIA, France. Grigori has an interdisciplinary background in computer engineering, physics, electronics, machine learning and mathematics. He obtained PhD in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh in 2004.

Grigori pioneered systematic and reproducible performance and energy analysis, optimization and dynamic adaptation of computer systems based on statistical analysis, autotuning, machine learning and crowdsourcing. He is currently leading development of a python and scikit-learn-based open-source SDK and repository to preserve and exchange knowledge about software/hardware optimization. Grigori is also leading a new artifact evaluation initiative for PPoPP and CGO conferences supported by ACM (code/data sharing to validate experimental results of publications).
