I'm a data scientist with a background in experimental condensed matter physics. To study physics is to seek the beautifully simple models of describing complex phenomena. I love taking the same approach when playing with data to develop new insights.
I am a data scientist at Apollo Agriculture. We use agronomic machine learning, remote sensing, and mobile phones to deliver input finance and customized advice to smallholder farmers. Our first product is a customized package of seed and fertilizer, farming advice, and credit delivered to maize farmers in Kenya. Prior to joining Apollo, I worked in data science at nToggle and EnerNOC. I received my PhD in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
