I'm a data scientist for a popular fintech company called Borrowell. I build credit risk models and convince management and investors to let me deploy them. I think that R is the better tool for visualization (ggplot2), data cleaning (dplyr/tidyr) and data scraping (rvest). However, Python is unparalleled at machine learning (scikit-learn) and bayesian statistics (PyMC3). As a result, I swing between the two languages frequently. Personally, I'm really interested in the intersection of data and art. And, I'm right now in the process of writing a technical book called, "Thoughtful Visualization with R"!
