Robert is a mathematician and did research in optimization modeling and algorithms. The ecosystem of JuliaOpt libraries in general, and JuMP in particular convinced him to consider Julia. After two years of avoiding the two-language problem successfully, Julia is now the go-to language for all his computational programming tasks.
