As a son of an engineer I grew up in a enriched technological environment, playing games and dreaming with a world of adventures and pixels. The time went by and I continued experimenting with the available tools like Basic and Logo during my high school but discovering the wonders of science, specially physics and mathematics.
And since then, the path has been the same, using knowledge and technology to contribute to my life and to the society I live in. This goal drove me to get my master is telecommunication engineer, and to apply different computer languages (C++, Java, Matlab and timidly python) to real systems.
A world of opportunities was open in the automotive industry, by programming test cases and testing expensive cars (Mercedes best cars ever)! But my love for science turned me to the academia again and this time more focused in machine learning and signal processing of brain signals. Thanks to python versatility I was able to merge deep analysis of large amount of data, with user interfaces for my experiments, and hardware control.
This is the idea that my friend and colleague Nick del Grosso and I would like to present in this edition of PyData. Showing a cut-edge field of science in which the possibilities of python help the professionals from different countries and backgrounds to work together and develop new insight into the unknown!
