I started using Python a little over 10 years ago, while working for HP's Large Format Printer Division in Barcelona. Complemented with generous servings of math and statistics, some C and C++ on the side, and the occasional Java, it has remained my tool of choice, both when I transferred to HP's Highly Immersive Platforms group in San Diego, and when moving back to Europe to join Google in Zürich.
Along the way I learned about, and fell in love with, NumPy. That led to a lot of reputation in StackOverflow, and an increased involvement in several of the Python scientific stack projects. I have commit rights to (a.k.a. being a core developer of) the NumPy and SciPy repositories, and have also contributed code to pandas, skimage, OpenCV and bottleneck.
Because it is all more fun with friends, I helped run the San Diego Python Users Group, and am now one of the organizers of the PyData Zürich meetup.
I also have a life outside of tech, that I share with my wonderful wife, Eva, and my two lovely kids, Lucas and Gabriela.
