Software developer since I was eight, in fact I wrote my first program before I had a computer (a 80286). Since then I've been programming in many languages and I think that there is no best programming language, it always depends on what you need to do. During my computer scientist degree I started working professionally developing software and websites (mostly with Java, HTML + javascript) for near ten years. Then I decided to start a Biology degree and a Bioinformatics post-degree and I started working at the Barcelona Biomedical Genomics Lab at UPF university (now we've moved to IRB Barcelona). And it's where I've been working the last eight years as a bioinformatician, or a computational biologist, or a data scientist... or what I prefer to say; as a software engineer, this is what I still really feel like.
