Matthew began life with dreams of becoming a stereotypical mad physicist, which, as it turns out, is not a viable life strategy. Fueled nevertheless with an insatiable curiosity for understanding the world around him, he went on to complete a PhD in theoretical quantum physics. Upon completing his academic studies, he thought to ply his skills in the “real world” as a data scientist, having especially enjoyed the programming and analysis aspects of his research. He is currently working at Airbnb, where he focuses on modeling, optimization and tooling.
