The Taiwan data cube (TWDC) platform is to improve the efficiency of satellite image management for further application, to access and analyze time series satellite image data more quickly, and to enhance the quality of remote sensing applications in industry and research. The framework of TWDC is proposed by The Committee on Earth Observation Satellite (CEOS) for utilizing Analysis Ready Data (ARD). The data preparation of analysis application can be simplified by TWDC framework. Specifically, the multiple satellite time series data sets is pre-processed by subsequent steps for normalized radiance data for further analysis. Data in TWDC contains optical satellite images and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images of Taiwan area. The optical satellite images are collected from Lansat-7/8, Formosat-2/5 and sentinel-2 images and SAR images are from sentinel-1 satellite, respectively. The TWDC provide not only Geospatial Data Management but also Analysis Software. In Data Cube platform, User can establish analysis application and acquire analyzed result without import or export satellite image data. Applications of TWDC include environmental monitoring (e.g. reservoir water quality monitoring, wildfire analysis, etc.), area change analysis (e.g. appearing and disappearing architecture, mountain slope area change, etc.), object detection (e.g. aircraft detection, ship detection, etc.), etc..
