Florian Hartl

Florian is the Project Lead of the Ad Targeting team at Yelp. Fascinated by high quality software engineering as well as the inner workings of machine learning, he prefers to create value at the intersection of those two worlds.

Originally from Germany, Florian holds a MSc in Information Systems from the Technical University Munich and started his career at a Munich based startup before moving to San Francisco. During his time in Munich he founded Munich Datageeks, the biggest meetup in Munich related to intelligent data processing.

When not deeply immersed in understanding the math behind ML algorithms, you can find Florian chasing waves along the coast of California or otherwise challenging his body and mind. There's also a personal blog with an update frequency you won't believe.
