Gary Dunow

Mr. Gary L. Dunow is the Director of Career Services at the National-Geospatial Intelligence Agency. As Director of Career Services, he is responsible for leading NGA's talent management functions as outlined in the NGA Strategy.

Mr. Dunow was previously the Director of the Analysis Directorate and Portfolio Manager for Analytic Capabilities at NGA where he was responsible for leading NGA's geospatial intelligence analytic capabilities and resources as well as modernizing NGA's analytic effort towards the future. Prior assignments include Deputy Director, International Affairs and Deputy Director, Expeditionary Operations under the Office of the Director of Military Support. Mr. Dunow deployed as the lead for GEOINT support to counterterrorism operation in Iraq in 2008. Previously, he was the Deputy Chief of the Community Governance Division, Office of Geospatial Intelligence Management. In this position, he was responsible for all aspects of National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) policy, the NSG requirements process, NSG governance activities, and implementation of community-vetted GEOINT solutions to technical and operational problems. Mr. Dunow spent the first five years of his NGA career in the Source Operations and management Directorate where he directed numerous operational activities, multi-INT programs and community-wide GEOINT collection and analytic initiatives. Mr. Dunow entered the Executive Service in 2008.

Mr. Dunow retired from the United States Air Force as an Intelligence Officer. He served in numerous enlisted and officer Air Force assignments and joint organizations during his Air Force career. Mr. Dunow earned a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Russian language from Excelsior University. Mr. Dunow's military and civilian awards include the Director of National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and Joint Service Commendation Medal. In 2016, he was awarded the Presidential Rank of Meritorious Executive.
