Randy LeVeque is Boeing Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington and a Senior Data Science Fellow in the eScience Institute. Randy's main research interests are in the development and application of numerical methods for partial differential equations. He is a lead developer of the Clawpack software package and the author of three books on numerical methods for differential equations. Current research interests are focused on software development, including tools for reproducible research and literate programming, and applications to geophysical flows, particularly tsunami modeling and hazard assessment.
Randy received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 1982 and is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and of the American Mathematical Society.
