Matt Thomson

Matt is a Senior Data Scientist at Capgemini in their Insights & Data team. His focus is on using open source technology, especially Python, for applying machine learning (and other analytical) methods to clients data problems, primarily in the public sector. Matt has a PhD in extra-galactic Astrophysics which he received after completing a Physics degree at Oxford. He has over 6 years of experience since his PhD in applying data science methods to problems in industry and while his main technology is Python and SQL he also develops in Scala/Spark and other open source languages.
