What is the PyData Global Conference?

The PyData Global Conference is an opportunity to listen, learn, and share knowledge about best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization.

Conference Overview

We welcome attendees with wide varieties of experiences, expertise, and backgrounds to create a diverse and compelling learning opportunity. Users, contributors, and newcomers can share experiences and learn from one another to solve hard problems and grow a stronger community.

Presentations will be given live with opportunities for questions and answers to facilitate a more engaging experience and a deeper discussion. Presentations will come in a variety of formats, such as workshops, talks, and panel discussions to create diverse learning experiences.

Following each session, a recording will be posted to attendees for continued viewing. At the conclusion of the Summit, all presentations will be posted on YouTube.

About PyData

PyData is an educational program of NumFOCUS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. PyData communities approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.

We aim to be an accessible, community-driven conference, with novice to advanced level presentations. PyData tutorials and talks bring attendees the latest project features along with cutting-edge use cases.

NumFOCUS

The mission of NumFOCUS is to promote sustainable high-level programming languages, open code development, and reproducible scientific research. We accomplish this mission through our educational programs and events as well as through fiscal sponsorship of open source scientific computing projects. We aim to increase collaboration and communication within the data science and scientific computing community.

NumFOCUS is a 501(c)3 public charity in the United States.

Conrad is a Partner at PythonAnywhere, a popular and growing Platform-as-a-Service working to democratize access to programming. He is an organizer for PyData London and PyData Hong Kong, and is on the advisory board of Python Ghana. He is also an exhibited photographer, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and United States Chess Federation National Master.

Marysia is a data scientist/machine learning engineer with an academic background in artificial intelligence from the University of Amsterdam, with a specialisation in deep learning for medical imaging. Currently, she works as a data science educator at GoDataDriven, and co-chairs the Amsterdam division of PyData.

Conduct

PyData has an engaged and respectful community made up of people from all over the world. We are committed to creating a productive, professional, and inclusive environment for everyone. All community members are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout the conference, all conference events and online forums. Our code of conduct is strictly enforced.
