Ariel M'ndange-Pfupfu

Ariel has spent the last four years as a data scientist in Washington DC, first at a startup and now at Capital One. He's worked on a diverse array of projects, mostly for the purpose of data science training and literacy. He has experience in all sorts of workflows, ranging from machine learning in Scikit-learn to prototyping web apps with Flask to distributed computing in the cloud using Spark. He received a Bachelor's in Physics from Stanford and a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Northwestern before deciding to make the switch to industry, and he really enjoys the challenges of design thinking and matching the business problem to the right tool. In his spare time he enjoys travel, strategy games, practicing French, and playing with his pet rabbit.
