In collaboration with the CIO and Urban's Research to Action Lab, I lead the Urban Institute's Data Science team.

Urban data scientists provide the bridge between technology and evidence-based policymaking. The team provides direct services – technical programming, web, application, and infrastructure development – in addition to methodological input, technical assistance, professional development, and open source code.

We use techniques such as machine learning, natural language processing, network analysis, web scraping, container services, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and automation services, and apply them to help answer critical public policy issues.
