Daniel Allan is an Associate Computational Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He is a contributor to various open-source projects in the scientific Python ecosystem and a lead developer of "bluesky" and "trackpy". While finishing his doctoral thesis on experimental soft condensed-matter physics at Johns Hopkins University, he encountered the open-source scientific Python community and transitioned into a career as a scientific software developer. He lives in Baltimore.
