Kevin received his BS in Computer Science from Texas Tech in 2010 and his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Illinois in 2014. He has worked as an embedded and vision systems engineer for National Instruments in Austin, Texas, a member of the Computer Vision R&D team for Wolfram Research in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and is now the Lead Data Scientist for the Walmart NexTech office in Austin, Texas. At Walmart, he leads a team of talented Data Scientists to solve the most complex and pressing internal process and data problems in Walmart. In addition to these academic and professional experiences, Kevin has been an avid volunteer at a local Austin animal rescue, Austin Pets Alive!, and has cofounded both the Technology and Research arms of that organization. He uses Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Research Methods, and Innovative Technologies to advance the state of the art in animal sheltering.
