Karlijn Zaanen

Karlijn Zaanen is a Data Scientist at Booking.com. With a background in mathematics, Karlijn started using Python when doing image processing on brain MRI scans for her master thesis at Utrecht University. Almost five years ago, she traded brain imaging data for the travel related data at Booking.com. Since last year, Karlijn has been part of Booking.com’s Machine Translations team. The team is building and optimising machine translation models that Booking.com needs to reach the vision of serving every customer in their preferred language.
