Omar Padron

Omar is a Senior R&D Engineer at Kitware, where he helps to advance the state of the art in scientific and high-end computing through the development of open source software. He received his B.S. in Science and Technology in 2010 and in 2011, an M.S. in Applied Mathematics; both from Kean University. Before joining Kitware, Omar served as a research programmer at the University of Illinois' National Center for Supercomputing Applications, where he worked closely with other scientists and engineers to develop novel research applications for the Blue Waters Sustained Petascale Supercomputer. Omar's technical interests include parallel algorithms, high-end visualization, and performance-conscious approaches to software development.
