Andre Panisson

André Panisson is a Principal Researcher at the Data Science Laboratory of the Institute for Scientific Interchange in Turin, Italy. His research focuses on development of tools to facilitate the analysis, modelling, simulation and measurement of complex phenomena in systems that involve technological and social factors, using the concepts of complex networks to investigate activity patterns and emergent properties. He has an extensive experience in the analysis of large-scale datasets from on-line social networks. He also contributes to the SocioPatterns project – an active RFID social interaction sensing platform, and is a developer of the Gephi network analysis software, to which he contributed features for analysing and visualising temporal networks and real-time graph streams. He received his PhD in Computer science from the University of Turin (Italy) in February 2012, and his MSc in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in 2007.
