Just show up ready to learn and make a contribution!In this sprint, we will guide you step-by-step to show you how to make an open-source contribution to JupyterLab and other parts of Project Jupyter. We will start with a short tutorial on how to use Git and GitHub, how to author a change to a project, and how to open a pull request. We will also provide a list of curated issues that are straightforward to resolve to offer a good place to start. Unconference sessions are facilitated discussions on topics of interest, impromptu hacking sessions on a specific topic\/library, anything that is on topic for the conference but falls outside the formal talks\/tutorials tracks &#8212; if you&#8217;d like to lead a session, propose your idea to the organisers at the registration desk and reserve time on the schedule.\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=&#8221;yes&#8221; opacity_bg_pattern=&#8221;0.1&#8243;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>BoF (Birds of a Feather) Sessions | October 28-30<\/h2>\n<p>Birds of a Feather sessions (or BoFs) are informal gatherings of like-minded individuals who wish to discuss a certain topic without a pre-planned agenda. For example, BoFs allow groups to meet and discuss issues relating to regular conference sessions and talk out common problems facing the community. But BoFs don&#8217;t need to be about the community or even PyData, they may also be held to share your local favorite chocolate or coffee with each other or discuss knitting patterns.<\/p>\n<p>Have fun and learn! BoFs exist to provide attendees with an inclusive, informal environment in which to share ideas freely.
