What to Expect
PyData Global 2024 is a 3-day virtual event for the international community of data scientists, data engineers, and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other.
During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to attend live keynote sessions and talks, lightning talks, and get to know fellow members of the PyData Community.
The event will be virtually hosted.

Dr. Jeroen Janssens
Jeroen Janssens, PhD, is a polyglot data science consultant and certified instructor. His expertise lies in visualizing data, implementing machine learning models, and building solutions using Python, R, JavaScript, and Bash. Jeroen is passionate about open source and sharing knowledge. He is the author of Data Science at the Command Line (O’Reilly, 2021) and is currently writing Python Polars: The Definitive Guide (O’Reilly, 2025). Peter Wang
Peter has been developing commercial scientific computing and visualization software for nearly 20 years. He has extensive experience in software design and development across a broad range of areas, including 3D graphics, geophysics, large data simulation and visualization, financial risk modeling, and medical imaging. Peter’s interests in the fundamentals of vector computing and interactive visualization led him to co-found Anaconda (formerly Continuum Analytics). As CTO at Anaconda, Peter leads the open source and community innovation group.

Dr. Hongxia Yang
Dr. Hongxia Yang has published over 100 papers in top-tier conferences and journals, and holds more than 50 patents. She has over 15 years of experience as an AI scientist, and specializes in large-scale machine learning, data mining, and deep learning. Currently a professor at HK Polytechnic University, she previously held AI scientist roles at IBM T.J. Watson research center, Yahoo! Inc, Alibaba Group, and ByteDance US. She earned her PhD from Duke University and her B.S. from Nankai University.
