Conference Overview<\/h3>

We welcome attendees with wide varieties of experiences, expertise, and backgrounds to create a diverse and compelling learning opportunity. Users, contributors, and newcomers can share experiences and learn from one another to solve hard problems and grow a stronger community.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>[vc_column_text]Presentations will be given live with opportunities for questions and answers to facilitate a more engaging experience and a deeper discussion. Presentations will come in a variety of formats, such as workshops, talks, and panel discussions to create diverse learning experiences.<\/p>\n

Following each session, a recording will be posted to attendees for continued viewing. About PyData<\/h3><\/div>\n <\/div>[vc_column_text css_animation=”none” el_class=”font-family-alt”]PyData is an educational program of NumFOCUS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. PyData communities approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.<\/p>\n

We aim to be an accessible, community-driven conference, with novice to advanced level presentations. PyData tutorials and talks bring attendees the latest project features along with cutting-edge use cases.<\/p>\n

NumFOCUS<\/h3>\n

The mission of NumFOCUS is to promote sustainable high-level programming languages, open code development, and reproducible scientific research. We accomplish this mission through our educational programs and events as well as through fiscal sponsorship of open source scientific computing projects. We aim to increase collaboration and communication within the data science and scientific computing community.<\/p>\n

Conrad is Co-Founder of Talent Co-Op, a venture studio co-operative and talent builder. He was previously a Partner at PythonAnywhere (acquired by Anaconda, Inc). Conrad has been involved with PyData Global since its inception in 2020, and is also an organizer for PyData London and PyData Hong Kong. Sou-Cheng is a Principal Data Scientist at the SAS Institute Inc. and a Research Associate Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology. During her free time, she serves as an active organizer of PyData Chicago and an open-source developer of QMCPy, a Python scientific library for quasi-Monte Carlo methods.
