Conference Overview<\/h3>

We welcome attendees with wide varieties of experiences, expertise, and backgrounds to create a diverse and compelling learning opportunity. Users, contributors, and newcomers can share experiences and learn from one another to solve hard problems and grow a stronger community.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>[vc_column_text css_animation=”none” el_class=”font-family-alt”]<\/p>\n

Presentations will be given live with opportunities for questions and answers to facilitate a more engaging experience and a deeper discussion. Presentations will come in a variety of formats, such as workshops, talks, and panel discussions to create diverse learning experiences.<\/p>\n

Following each session, a recording will be posted to attendees for continued viewing. At the\u00a0conclusion of the Summit,\u00a0all presentations will be posted on YouTube.<\/p>\n

About PyData<\/h3><\/div>\n <\/div>[vc_column_text css_animation=”none” el_class=”font-family-alt”]PyData is an educational program of NumFOCUS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. PyData communities approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.<\/p>\n

We aim to be an accessible, community-driven conference, with novice to advanced level presentations. PyData tutorials and talks bring attendees the latest project features along with cutting-edge use cases.<\/p>\n

NumFOCUS<\/h3>\n

The mission of NumFOCUS is to promote sustainable high-level programming languages, open code development, and reproducible scientific research. We accomplish this mission through our educational programs and events as well as through fiscal sponsorship of open source scientific computing projects. We aim to increase collaboration and communication within the data science and scientific computing community.<\/p>\n

NumFOCUS is a 501(c)3 public charity in the United States.<\/p>\n

Tutorials are 90 minutes hands-on sessions where you can learn about a new skill\/library\/technology in a self-contained way. Materials will be available before-hand so you can follow suit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Workshops<\/b><\/h3>\n

Workshops are two hour sessions focused on a theme.\u00a0 They are intended to give a PyData sub-community a space to assemble and focus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Workshops will include a mix of invited speakers and can incorporate a variety of formats:<\/span><\/p>\n
