It was in the format of a short presentation (15 mins) on the state of the art in their area of expertise, and a discussion session afterward. Recordings of these sessions will be made available to attendees throughout the conference![/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”peacoc”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row opacity_bg_pattern=”0.1″ el_id=”Sprints”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

PyData global is hosting multiple sprints for open source projects. Each sprint will have a project maintainer leading the sprint to help guide the contributors throughout the session.

Development sprints offer an opportunity to enhance and contribute to open source projects in a focused session with the project maintainers. It is a fun exercise that helps open source projects to improve with the help of the open source community.

ALL experience levels are welcome to participate. Contribution guides and environment setup instructions are provided with each sprint.

You can access the schedule of the sprints using this link.

The duration of each sprint is 4 hours.

Slack Zoom Before the Sprint In PyData Global 2021, 7 projects will have separate sprint sessions with some of its awesome project core developers and maintainers!

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”peacoc”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row opacity_bg_pattern=”0.1″ el_id=”Meetup-Social”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

PyData Meetup Organisers event is a social gathering for existing, new and upcoming meet-up organisers. Come together for a fun chat to share your past experiences, learnings and make new friends. Since this is a social event everyone is encouraged to bring a drink which is well known in their country and virtually share them with everyone else. Please note that this event will happen in Gather Town and ticket holders should have access to Gather space.

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”peacoc”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row opacity_bg_pattern=”0.1″ el_id=”BOF”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Birds of a Feather sessions (or BoFs) are informal gatherings of like-minded individuals who wish to discuss a certain topic without a pre-planned agenda. For example, BoFs allow groups to meet and discuss issues relating to regular conference sessions and talk out common problems facing the community. But BoFs don’t need to be about the community or even PyData, they may also be held to share your local favorite chocolate or coffee with each other or discuss knitting patterns.

Have fun and learn! BoFs exist to provide attendees with an inclusive, informal environment in which to share ideas freely. BoFs can be serious, and a great way to gather the people you’ve been working with remotely on a project in a space to deep dive on a topic, but they can also be fun as well.

[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Submit a BoF Session” color=”peacoc” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fspreadsheets%2Fd%2F1_p0gDLE6BjLqskqa3gMuiWeUPkmWAMJxKt-mnMAxm5w%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing”][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”peacoc”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row opacity_bg_pattern=”0.1″ el_id=”Executives-At-Pydata”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Executives at PyData is a facilitated session for executives and leaders to discuss challenges around designing and delivering successful projects, organizational communication, product management and design, hiring, and team growth. We will record it, so no worries if you are not able to dial in, you will be able to join the game nonetheless. We introduce you to the game and will walk you through the complete setup so you can start hacking to automate your supply chain. We guarantee you, it is easy to start and you will have a whole lot of fun![/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”peacoc”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row opacity_bg_pattern=”0.1″ el_id=”Social-Hours”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

What time is it? Oh, it is social o’clock! Let’s use this opportunity and login into Gathertown and socialize. Choose a nice character, grab a coffee or whatever beverage you prefer, switch on your camera, and unmute. Do you know the Pac-Man rule in on-premise conferences? Yeah, let’s do the same in gather: Always try to not close the circle when talking to each other, but keep a spot open for anyone to join and just listen. Somebody is joining your circle? Stop talking for a second and say “hi”, and introduce yourself. You are walking around not sure how to start socializing? Just walk to the next group and burst into the conversation, in this hour it is not impolite, that’s how you know it is working!

Program

[vc_column_text]

Communication Channels

Every sprint will have its own channel on slack. Contributors should enroll in those slack channels to receive the list of issues to work on and have a space to discuss their progress with the maintainers.

During the sprint, there will be a dedicated zoom call for that sprint which will be used for sprint introduction. Participants will be divided into breakout rooms where a maintainer will come over to support attendees when needed.

It is crucial to read the documentation and environment set up instructions to have a productive sprint. If you’re facing any issues in setting up your environment, please use slack to ask for support in setting up the environment before the sprint begins.

Which Projects are Sprinting?
